Wickedly Chic is so excited to share the great news about the Ladies Independent Design League. And the great news is….they are having a holiday show this coming weekend. The bad news is…the show is in Brooklyn and I am in Chicago. But the good news is that Wickedly Chic readers get to share in the excitement and find out about some hot designers at the same time. The ladies of the league have formed a posse to support each other in their indie endeavors and to get the word out that indie is the way to go!
And here are the hotties of the “League”:
Kpoene Kofi-Bruce is the founder of the LIDL and she has her own fab fashion biz called Mignonette Clothing. Kpoene was named the Washington City Paper’s Craftiest Bastard for two years in a row (yes mom, you read that correctly). Featured here is a knock-out dress designed by the crafty bastard herself.
Erika Wei is the owner of Luka. Erika designs amazing jewels and slaves as a website designer. We have one of her beautiful necklaces featured here with more lovelies on her website. I noticed a sale on some of the jewels as well.
Erin Salez creates fun and funky accessories when she is not aiding society with her work as a Social Worker. This messenger bag rates at the top of my list with the bright orange color that can brighten up any bleak winter day. It would pop cheerfully into spring and summer too! In business for only a year, the lovely Diane Tider has tantalizing one-of-a-kind jewelry to offer. Her website is in progress and she is selling her jewelry to New York fashionistas at select retail stores.
Finally, we have Lisa Levinthal. Lisa designs knock-out jewelry and the model here is seen wearing one of the dresses from Mignonette Clothing as well as a necklace designed by Lisa Levinthal.
